This Britten-Norman
BN-2B-26 Islander of OLT (Ostfriesische
Lufttransport) is on final to Wangerooge airfield in
north Germany. The Britten-Norman Islander was conceived
by John Britten and Desmond Norman in early 1960s as a
low-cost general purpose and commuter aircraft, first
flown on the 13th of June 1965. The aircraft pictured
above was manufactured in 1987 - a total of 1220
Islanders have been delivered.
