The stretched version of the Airbus A320 - the Airbus A321 - was launched in November 1989. First flight took place on the 11th of March 2003. The A321 (with V2530-engines) entered service with launching-customer Lufthansa on the 18th of March 1994 (Alitalia took delivery of their CFM56-powered A321 the same day).
