Announced
on the 26th of September 1977, the Cheyenne
III differed from earlier Cheyenne models
primarily by having increased wingspan, a lengthened
fuselage, T-tail and more powerful engines. The
production prototype first flew in May 1979. D-IOSB is
used by Lufthansa Flight Training. Students fly this
plane in the last phase of the ab-initio training in
Bremen.
