Scandinavian Commuter signed an order for 15 Dash 8-Q400 on the 26th of August 1997. Further 18 options were made, of which 13 were converted into orders. LN-RDO "Frid Viking" was accepted by SAS Commuter on the 31st of January 2001, it entered traffic ten days later.
