The Embraer
145, initially named "Amazon", was
logical development of the EMB-12X family and also the
response to the sector which was becoming dominated by
the Canadair Regional Jet. Essentially, the Embraer 145
is a "Brasilia" airframe with two fuselage
plugs fore and aft of the wing, a newly designed
supercritical wing and a modified tail. Pictured above
is an ERJ 145 of Swedish regional airline Skyways Express.
